It’s finally here! 🎉 The Monero #TailEmission starts today! After ~9p ET (~1 UTC), #Monero will issue 0.6 #XMR per block in perpetuity. This ensures a permanent security mining incentive, regardless of the fee market. A great thread on the tail emission: 1/ The #TailEmission is coming in ~30d (block 2,641,623), so let's take a few minutes and walk through why the #Monero community chose a tail emission, how it works, and what it means for Monero user's and the project long-term. ❗️Attention❗️ Dear Neutrino community, Today we are skipping the leasing to 8 new applicants due to the release of the new node version. We request all the program applicants to update their nodes to version 1.4.6 and enable the feature 17 asap. We will continue reviewing the applications tomorrow and from now on will provide leasing only to version 1.4.6 nodes with the feature 17 enabled. The nodes of the participants that have already received the leasing should also get the update asap and enable the feature 17. ~1hr downtime is allowed. Nodes that don't have the feature 17 enabled may get excluded from the program.
